Sound

Our sound
High quality sound informs much of what we do. Our carefully tuned sound system follows the principles of David Mancuso’s loft, though we use modern reference series speakers by EM Acoustics.
Inspiration is drawn from listening bars, audiophile parties and DIY collectives. Embracing the past, while moving forward in an intersectional way, supporting multiple disciplines and communities.
On the weekends the Margate Arts Club feels like a welcoming and friendly psychedelic house party.

Our stage
We believe everyone should have access to a space where they can express their ideas and share their emotions. Live music is our beating heart: bands and solo artists, experimental, folk, afrobeat, electronic, jazz and spoken word. We also showcase performance, theatre, host gatherings, art shows, crafts, education and private parties.
Our resident night, Margate Electronics, champions live experimental electronic performance and supports a passionate local community.

Our Community
We believe in conscious partying: being respectful to each other and immersing ourselves in music.
We would encourage you to arrive early, supporting and listening to the whole set.
Please keep conversations to the back rooms, or the garden.

Our nights
Our regular club nights put record selecting at their core, crafting a story and a journey. They’re often experimental, reflecting many years of collecting, research and dedication. Come with an open mind and be prepared to hear something new.
