We open much like a traditional pub or listening bar before 8pm. Friday and Saturday, serving drinks and a place to hangout and meet friends. After 8pm we have live music or record selectors till 2am. Our main project space has a magnificent sound system, with places to sit, listen, relax and dance.

Out back, our courtyard garden is open on Fridays and Saturdays, 12pm–10pm, and we often have live music or performance on the garden stage.

Everyone is welcome, and our team is always there to support you.

We want everyone to feel comfortable here, whatever brings you through the door. If you have any access needs or questions before your visit, get in touch and we’ll help you plan your night.

Our back rooms and the garden offer quieter spaces away from the main room if you need a break from the sound.

Margate Arts Club has a wheelchair ramp for entry, the front doors are wide enough for all wheelchairs, which gives access to the main room where gigs and events take place. The next door through to the bar and toilet is an average UK door (76cm) so only smaller or foldable wheelchairs can fit through. The toilets have grab rails.

We’re based in the heart of Northdown Road, a vibrant street in Cliftonville, Margate, that’s home to a diverse community. Our building was built in 1903 and has housed a venue and community hub since 2015.
